香港藝術發展局(藝發局)於 21/4/2009 假香港大會堂音樂廳舉行「2008香港藝術發展獎」頒獎禮,頒發了31個獎項予本地藝術工作者、團體、學校及商業機構,以表揚他們在藝術方面的成就,以及嘉許他們在推動香港藝術發展的貢獻。行政長官曾蔭權先生、民政事務局局長曾德成先生親臨主禮,以示對香港文化藝術界的重視和支持。
今年,「終身成就獎」得主為享譽國際的國學大師兼漢學家饒宗頤教授。年屆93歲的饒教授畢生致力漢學研究及藝術創作,學藝雙攜,成就非凡,對本港學術及文化藝術界有宏遠的貢獻。

(21/4/2009 news) The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) gave formal recognition to 31 artists, arts organisations, schools and business organisations in recognition of their unstinting support and contribution to the arts development in Hong Kong at today’s award presentation ceremony at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall. The ceremony was officiated by The Hon Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government and Mr Tsang Tak-sing, Secretary for Home Affairs. Their presence greatly demonstrated their support to the local arts sector.

This year, the Honorary Award is bestowed on Professor Jao Tsung-i, sinologist and renowned scholar in Chinese and Oriental Studies. Professor Jao dedicates his life to the study of Chinese culture and the creation of arts. At the age of 93, he continues to open up new frontiers by integrating arts into the academic world and has made tremendous contributions to both spheres.
