It is far not enough to understand an art piece by purely 'viewing' it. Do some background research of the artist and the historical background before jumping to conclusion.

There are still so many artists doing their work in form of surrealist paintings. Some of them are inspired by Dali, de Chirico and Magritte too.

You don't like the work doesn't mean it's a rubbish. The best way to learn or know art is finding the merits of the art pieces and art movement. Things change. Surrealism came to an end, Romanticism can to an end, there were so many art movements past in thousands years. They are all meaningful.
